I am truly blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful people. There are hundreds of lessons I have learned already from the 24 years I have been on this planet. Because I don’t want to bore you with listing them all, and I feel like it would make literary sense that I would list twenty-four… because I am 24… here is a glimpse of some of my life lessons.
- Growth does not come from comfort zones.
- You can and should learn something from everyone.
- Chicken enchilada’s can be made by someone other than my mother, and still be good, but never as good.
- Hearing and listening are two very different skills.
- Stop seeking permission from others, on how to live your own life.
- Honesty, like gold, is a rare commodity in today’s society.
- Chickens are hilarious creatures. If you don’t have one yet, get twelve…because chicken math…
- Common sense is not so common anymore.
- 90 degree weather is a requirement to move square bales.
- You can choose your family.
- True character is shown, not spoken. If you feel you must express how great you are, you probably aren’t that great. Work on yourself.
- Breeding and genetics are important. That doesn’t only apply to the horse world.
- The lawn will still need mowed tomorrow.
- Be a continual student. You will never know everything
- If you say, “I know”, you likely don’t know, and that is okay.
- We don’t deserve dogs.
- Don’t forget to look up from the daily grind of your life to SEE and appreciate God’s beautiful creations.
- Never measure your success with someone else’s ruler.
- Be mindful of those that are quick to take and slow to give. Be quick to give, slow to take, and slow to give those who take.
- It’s your life, not theirs, just as it is their life, not yours.
- Life is too short to not do the things you love.
- It is never too late to try something new.
- When you do try something new, you will suck. It’s inevitable.
- The horse connects people from all backgrounds, personalities, lifestyles, countries, and cultures. It is truly amazing.
